This comprehensive 2-day course provides a practical and in-depth understanding of Malaysian labour laws, focusing on both the Employment Act 1955 (including the 2022 amendments) and the Industrial Relations Act 1967 (including the 2010 amendments). Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to manage employment relationships, ensure legal compliance, and handle workplace dispute effectively.
Day 1 focuses on the Employment Act 1955, covering essential topics such as employee rights, employer obligations, hours of work, wages, misconduct, domestic inquiry procedures, and protections of special employee groups including pregnant women, young workers, and part-time staff. The session includes case discussions and practical guidance for handling employment terminations.
Day 2 addresses the Industrial Relations Act 1967, guiding participants through trade union recognition, collective bargaining, dispute resolution, and unfair dismissal procedures. It also covers the processes and powers of the Industrial Court, remedies, awards, and appeals, with practical case discussions to illustrate real-world application.
