Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk
Control - HIRARC is a systematic process of
identifying workplace hazards, evaluating the
degree of risk and prioritize the significant control
measure of the analyzed hazard. It is fundamental
and widely used by safety and health professionals
in conducting risk assessment for physical hazards.
The evaluation technique employed in the HIRARC
process will enable companies to identify the
sound control measure based on the hierarchy of
control. It will also assist company to comply with
the duty to conduct and implement risk
assessment requirements under section 18B of the
OSH Act 1994, reduce workplace incidents and
promote a safety and healthier workplace.
